Workshops & Tours

Dates for our 2021 Beekeeping Workshops and Beekeeping Tours Coming Soon!

All tours are conducted in an outdoor setting and adhere to NC Department of Health ad Human Services guidelines related to COVID-19.

Learn what the buzz is all about, try something different, and BEE amazed as you peak inside a working hive containing thousands of busy honey bees under the guidance of a professional beekeeper. Whether you are searching for a unique team building activity, a fun adventure with friends or family, or something truly unique to do with your significant other, our beekeeping tours are sure to leave you with memories that last a lifetime.

This exciting 1.5 hour tour begins in a beautiful outdoor setting with a brief introduction to the amazing honey bee, the art of beekeeping, and the tools of the trade. Following this introduction you will suit up in protective gear(provided) before taking a short walk to one of our working apiaries.

Once the bee smoker is lit, we will open a beehive for you to see the fascinating inner workings of a colony of honey bees, something very few people get to experience. Get up close and personal with worker bees, drones, and the elusive queen bee! Learn how our honey is made along with other hive products such as beeswax and propolis. Depending on your individual comfort level, you will be welcomed to hold a frame with thousands of live honey bees or you may just stand back and observe. All tours will include the opportunity to taste our pure raw honey straight from the hive and, of course, plenty of opportunities for super cool photos!

Tours are limited to 8 participants in order to ensure a quality experience for all.

All participants must sign a waiver.
